Life for the Children, Kenya
Gary R. Glanville (Dr. G) pastored in the Methodist Church for 40 years in Michigan. He is married to Lisa who taught 2nd & 3rd grades in Romeo. Together they have four adult children and four grandchildren. Their daughter Stephanie met her husband at Bay Shore Camp and Kent Fishel performed the ceremony. Dr. G has taught pastors in Nicaragua (2001) and Kenya (2011). In November of 2023, Dr. G returned to Kenya to teach 100 pastors. These men and women of God do not have the luxury of attending Bible College or Seminary, they do not have financial means or backing, they simply feel called of God to preach the Good News and start churches! What would you teach them over five days? Hear part of their story as the Holy Spirit was moving in Wachara, Kenya.

Use Your Will Power! Connecting Your Faith, Values, and Legacy
A will is a common term for a Last Will and Testament. This important document enables you to specify the distribution of your property upon your death. It allows you to provide for your family and your church. A will serves as a statement of your faith, values, and legacy. It is a flexible way to ensure that your ultimate wishes will be put into action.
A will is one of the only ways to convey your personal wishes for distributing your property to loved ones.
A will permits you to select a personal representative in whom you have confidence. A will gives you the opportunity to name the guardians of your children. A will leads to a more efficient process with the probate court and IRS.
A will allows you to name specific beneficiaries, including your family, your church, and other church-related ministries.
You are invited to attend a one-hour seminar, Grateful Living & Generous Giving: An Introduction to Life Gift Planning, to be held on July 28, at 2:30 p.m. in the Patton Lodge. David S. Bell, President & Executive Director of the United Methodist Foundation of Michigan, will answer many of your questions about legacy gifts and planned gifts. No product or service will be sold. We are hosting this informative seminar to equip you to be an even better steward of God’s gifts in your life.
